Grant Thornton advises the Spengler Group on takeover of medical diagnostic specialists Luxamed

At the end of June 2024, the Spengler Group, an international supplier of medical technology, announced the takeover of Luxamed GmbH & Co. KG, a leading supplier in the area of illumination for medical diagnoses, based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
An interdisciplinary team of experts from Grant Thornton in Germany, led by the partners Tobias Kluth and Dr Achim Kestler, was able to make a decisive contribution to the successful conclusion of the acquisition for the Spengler Group through financial and tax due diligence as well as subsequent advice during the negotiations.
The Spengler Group, majority-owned by the French investment company Andrea Partners and supported by AfricInvest Europe, made sales in 2023 of 25 million euros. The company, based in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in France, specialises in the development, production and sale of precision instruments for medical diagnosis.
Luxamed GmbH & Co. KG focuses on the development, production and sale of innovative and high-quality light diagnostic instruments in medical technology. The company offers a broad range of medical device products, such as otoscopes, laryngoscopes, stethoscopes, reflex hammers and LED examination lamps.
