Grant Thornton advises MOMA on the acquisition of HCR Holz Centrum Regensburg

Stuttgart, 15. October 2026

OMA GmbH (Moma), an investment vehicle of the entrepreneurial family of Dr. Thomas Muhr, has acquired all shares in HCR Holz Centrum Regensburg GmbH (HCR) from Outdoor Life Group Holding B.V. (Outdoor Life Group).

An interdisciplinary team from Grant Thornton Germany, comprising members of the Advisory and Legal practice areas, advised Moma throughout the entire transaction process. Led by partners Dr. Mathias Reif (Legal) and Boris Kröpsky (Legal), as well as Harald Weiß (Advisory – Financial) and Dr. Stephane Müller (Advisory – Commercial), the team supported the transaction from the initial negotiation phases through comprehensive due diligence to the final contract negotiations and the successful signing and closing.

Hans-Werner Bieler, head of the family office for the entrepreneurial family of Dr. Thomas Muhr, commented:

“Thanks to Grant Thornton’s interdisciplinary team, we were able to successfully meet the high demands of the complex and challenging negotiation phase.”

The Outdoor Life Group is an international company specializing in the development, production, and distribution of a wide range of garden wood products and packaging wood.

HCR has over 50 years of experience in wood processing, particularly in the garden and packaging wood industries. It operates a sawmill in Bavaria (Wenzenbach), located in the heart of one of Europe’s largest pine and spruce forests.
