Grant Thornton advises Down2Earth Capital, Gimv and The Wallfashion on the purchase of Rasch Tapetenfabrik

Down2Earth Capital (D2E) and Gimv recently announced the takeover of wallpaper manufacturer Rasch Tapetenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, based in Bramsche in Lower Saxony, through their portfolio company The Wallfashion House. The previous owners, the Rasch family, will retain a large share in the company in order to guarantee continuity and the current management will continue to run Rasch independently.
An interdisciplinary team from Grant Thornton in Germany from the areas of Financial and Tax, led by Partners Klaus-Martin Haußmann and Dr. Achim Kestler advised D2E, Gimv and The Wallfashion House on their financial and tax due diligence. Other advisory services were also provided on issues specific to the transaction, including on the contract negotiations and extensive restructuring measures.
Tapetenfabrik Gebr. Rasch GmbH & Co. KG is one of Germany’s leading wallpaper manufacturers. The company has been family-owned since it was founded in 1861. Rasch has eight offices abroad and exports to 95 countries. Now, alongside Grandeco Wallfashion Group, Wall!Supply and Holden, it will become part of The Wallfashion House, a leading European association of designers and producers of wall decoration products that was established by D2E and Gimv in 2020 with the goal of establishing itself as the leading wall fashion player in Europe.
