    Yes. SAP S/4HANA only runs on SAP HANA. Those still using older SAP ERP systems (e.g. SAP ECC) also need to move their database to SAP HANA when changing over to S/4HANA.

    The time taken depends on various factors, such as the size of the business, migration approach and existing IT structures. Typically a complete S/4HANA transformation takes between 12 and 36 months. Being well prepared and strategic planning can shorten the time considerably.
