We want to be part of the solution.

With our involvement in the diversity charter Charta der Vielfalt, CSR Day and the fund-raising campaign Deutschland rundet auf, we’re taking action. Our measure of value added also includes the use that businesses are to society. That’s why we want to be a model business and celebrate other model businesses. Actions are what count, not words. But here’s a description of a few of the many ways we get involved anyway.

Corporate social responsibility

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of our corporate culture. On our global Grant Thornton CSR day, all the staff in Germany can take the day to lend a hand with specific local community projects. Each office offers at least one project to get involved with.

As Dr Stefan Hannen, Senior Manager at the Sustainability Centre of Excellence at Grant Thornton says: “The value that business creates is not only measured in terms of revenue and income but also in terms of the use that the company is to society. At Grant Thornton we have a strong tradition of getting involved beyond our core business. Lots of members of staff got involved in our CSR Day again this year with passion and enthusiasm for a good cause and got a positive response everywhere. We are very pleased with everyone’s involvement and would like to say a big thank you to all the participants.”

Children are our future. However, not all of them are lucky enough to grow up well-protected and in a stable environment. Many children in Germany are lacking the basic educational opportunities. Our people are as committed as we are to giving back to the community and many of them donate a part of their salary on a voluntary basis to charitable foundations combating child poverty.

Our contribution: Grant Thornton doubles each donation, championing our path toward social leadership.

In June 2018, Grant Thornton became official partner of the donation campaign DEUTSCHLAND RUNDET AUF. These projects support children of all ages in building an independent life and access quality education. Since 2012, around 10.3 million Euro were donated for projects supporting over 92,000 children.

Michael Häger, CEO of Grant Thornton: “This program is a great opportunity to accomplish great benefits for children together. The campaign aligns perfectly with our goals to support less privileged people and complements our CSR activities excellently.
