On 28 May 2023 QIG Holdings Limited, an established investment group in the hospitality sector, announced a significant eight-figure investment in the PropTech company Homelike GmbH. QIG Holdings expands its brand portfolio in the alternative accommodation sector with this step and strengthens its market position with the aim of sustainably developing and changing the industry.
Grant Thornton acted as financial advisor to QIG Holdings on the investment. An interdisciplinary team of experts from the areas of advisory and tax contributed significantly to the success of the transaction with comprehensive financial and tax due diligence services.
QIG pursues the strategic objective of driving a revitalisation of the hospitality industry worldwide. The company focuses in particular on alternative accommodation - from serviced flats and aparthotels to co-living and pods. QIG expects to find new opportunities for growth in this area by expanding its brand portfolio.
Homelike has a platform with a requested volume of US$500 million in 2023, a booked volume of US$100 million, a global portfolio of over 180,000 apartments and serving more than 70 countries post-merger. The combined number of active B2B customers is 750+, with 200,000 active B2C accounts on the Homelike platform yearly.
