Entering the German market
Your reliable partners.
Hamburg, 17. July 2023
Barcelona-based Vip District S.L. is a leading European provider of employee benefits and smart engagement solutions. In order to further establish itself in the German market and unlock new growth potential, the company acquired MIVO mitarbeitervorteile GmbH, a subsidiary of Degussa Bank AG, in June 2023. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Grant Thornton acted as exclusive corporate finance advisor to Vip District in the acquisition. An interdisciplinary team of experts from the Advisory, Legal and Tax departments provided comprehensive M&A and SPA advisory services and consequently contributed to the successful completion of the transaction. The advisory services encompassed financial and tax due diligence, M&A-process coordination and support during the purchase price negotiations in a complex transactional environment.
Vip District has set out to become the all-in-one SaaS provider for employee engagement, with modules for financial incentives, employee savings, rewards, as well as team communication. By effectively executing its European growth strategy, VIP District reported revenues of €25 million in 2022, representing an annual growth rate of 30 percent. With the acquisition of MIVO, Vip District can further expand and consolidate its position in the German market.
MIVO operates an employee benefits platform for companies, associations and other organizations, offering purchasing benefits in the form of discounts, voucher codes or exclusive offers to a network of around one million users working for 3,000 partner companies. The merger of Vip District and MIVO creates a leader in employee engagement in the German market, combining the buyer's technological solutions with MIVO's extensive network of partner companies.
